BDE: Tzaddik “Charlie Buttons” Nassofer, 81, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Tzaddik “Charlie Buttons” Nassofer OBM, a fixture in the Crown Heights community – loved by all – whose smile, balloons, and visits to simchas are part of a generations childhood. He passed away Thursday evening, the 11th of Iyar, 5785.
He was 81 years old.
For many years, Tzaddik haLevi ben Masha Ruchel came to each simcha in Crown Heights, entertained children, and raised the spirits of all. He was also a regular to Murphy’s Shul in Crown Heights. Due to health issues, he spent the last few years in a rehab center in Brooklyn as his health declined.
He is survived by his two sisters.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Friday, passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 11:00am. Kevura will take place at Mt. Hebron Cemetery 130-04 Horace Harding Expy, Kew Gardens Hills, NY 11367. A Minyon is needed at the cemetery for Kevurah.
Shiva information to be announced.

Oh no a real Tzaddik. So sad, kept wanting to visit him. Gave joy with nothing in return.

In earlier years he was a fixture of the West Side neighborhood. Always with a cheerful word, and a Boruch Hashem.

Baruch Dayan HaEmet. A true tzaddik in his own right—he saw the best in everyone and found joy in bringing smiles to both children and adults. His light and kindness will be deeply missed.
A minyan is needed?
How could it be after decades of bringing Simcha to every Simcha there won’t be overcrowding at his kevurah.
Please, please go and give Charlie Tzadik the kavod he deserves
