Lubavitch Crown Heights Resident Launches Run For New York City Council Seat

Dear Members of Anash residing in City Council District 41,

If recent events have taught us anything, it’s that we cannot rely on others to stand up for us, we must stand up for ourselves. Many in our community have expressed disappointment with the response, or lack thereof, from local politicians to the recent public threats against our community.

Our askonim work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to protect our safety and ensure we are not forgotten. But there are times when a public response is needed, to express our dissatisfaction, and to remind our allies and adversaries alike that when we feel threatened or ignored, we will rise.

That is why I am standing up now, to make that statement. By electing one of our own to city government, we amplify our voice and make it clear that we will not be neglected or used as a scapegoat for others’ frustrations.

I am running for City Council in District 41, a district that has experienced exponential growth in recent years. My goal is to improve the lives of all its residents, because no community can be secure or thrive at the expense of its neighbors. Only by strengthening both our community and those around us can we enjoy the peace and stability this great city offers.

But I cannot do this alone, I need your help.

First and foremost, to appear on the ballot, I must collect hundreds of signatures from registered voters in District 41. Please make sure you’re registered in this district, and reach out so we can arrange to collect your signature.

Second, I need your help raising funds for this campaign. Our short-term fundraising goal is $5,000. Every contribution counts.

Third, help me spread the word. Talk to your neighbors and explain why signing my petition matters and why they should support this campaign.

Fourth and most important; I need your vote.

The odds may be stacked against us, but that should only strengthen our resolve. With your help, we can make a real difference, and we can win.

Thank you for your support,

Please let us know when we can come to collect your signature: https://forms.gle/F1tw9ZT5TakKrYWw6
