Fire Destroys Two Sukkahs Friday Night on Eastern Parkway

A fire that broke out due to Shabbos candles destroyed two Sukkahs at 935 Eastern Parkway Friday night. No one was injured in the conflagration.
The fire, which originated in one of the sukkahs, quickly caught on the structure’s highly flammable materials and spread to a neighboring sukkah. Within a short time, both sukkahs were fully engulfed and the heat from the flames broke windows on the building the sukkahs were built against.
Firefighters arrived and were quickly able to douse the flames.
No one was injured but the two sukkahs were completely destroyed.
