Canada’s Trudeau Signs Scroll of Honor Marking Rebbe’s 30th Yahrtzeit
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed six Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis serving Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, who were accompanied by Elisha Wiesel, son of Elie Wiesel, to Parliament Hill. Trudeau signed and presented a “Scroll of Honour” marking the Rebbe’s 30th yahrtzeit, which will be marked this year on 3 Tammuz-July 9.
The scroll “recognizes the vast accomplishments of the Rebbe, of righteous memory, and the relevance of his message today,” and proclaims July 9 as a Day of Good Deeds in the Country of Canada.
