IDF Chaplain Request for Sweatsuits Delivered in Just Four Days

On Thursday morning Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz of Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida, who was planning a community solidarity mission to Israel the following Sunday, received a call from the Israeli Army Chaplain at the Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva with a request to find, purchase, and bring 90 sweatsuits for the wounded soldiers that need Rehabilitation & Plastic Surgery.

Special requests for the order was that the clothes should be a good quality company so the wounded soldiers would feel good about themselves, and that the clothes should be with a zipper as it will be easy for them to open when they go to therapy.

Rabbi Minkowicz sent a message to his community for people to share in this mitzvah, however it had to be delivered to the Rabbis house in 24 hours before Friday 12:00pm as they were leaving to Israel on Sunday morning.

Two woman undertook the project, and by Friday 12:00pm they delivered to the Rabbis house the 90 designer sweatsuits that were requested.

Rabbi Minkowicz reached out to ELAL management to arrange to bring the extra luggage on the plane and they happily agreed to help.

Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz and Rabbi Peretz Meir Simcha Minkowicz of Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida as well as Bob & Taryn landed in Israel on Monday morning, and by Monday afternoon delivered the 90 Sweatsuits to the Hospital Chaplain. The suits were then hand delivered to the wounded woldiers that were in the Hospital.
