Mishenichnas Adar at Cheder Ohr Menachem
The joyous month of Adar has this year been doubled, and so is the excitement and festivities!
8:50, Friday morning – Rosh Chodesh Adar… all boys were greeted and swept into dancing circles by Kita Zayen who were all dressed up. Outdoor lineup was transformed by with lively Purim music and dancing led by Sgan Menahel Rabbi Yossi Overlander… This was just the beginning! Talmidim eagerly awaiting the “Chinezishe Letzitatzye” the event ushering in Adar, while concluding the Chodesh Shvat Mivtza ‘Basi L’gani’
First on Sunday we had the formal Rosh Chodesh Assembly, led by the Menahel Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz. The Dvar Torah, story, Talmidei Hachodesh and treats had one special addition…
Rabbi Chanoch Hecht -Kita Zayen Mechanech and program coordinator Launched the Mishnayos Baal Peh -Tof Shin Pey Daled! Cheder’s traditional gift to the Rebbe in honor of Yud Alef Nissan! A beautiful PowerPoint depicted the amazing success of Lines and Mishnayos that are ever climbing and upping the bar every year, and this IberYahr will only be tenfold better!
Finally, towards the end of the day, the moment all boys were awaiting arrived.. With their tickets earned by Basi L’gani, 10 Mivtzaim posters, and Mikdash Mi’at missions they headed to a fully decorated Frankel Shul for the annual Rosh Chodesh Adar Grand Chinese Auction – ‘Chinezisher Litzetatzia’
In high Purim spirits, loads of dancing and excitement, the lots were cast. Talmidim picked the boxes and prizes they wished to win, kita zayen assisted as all the other talmidim cheered them on.. Certificates were presented to these amazing Lebedike Chassidim – achievers.
After which each prize was presented by a Talmid explaining its connection to Purim & Geula. The winners were announced by Melamdim Rabbi Dovber Bryski, Rabbi Tanchum Abrams, Rabbi Yisroel Botnick, Rabbi Chanoch Hecht, Rabbi Mordechai Palace.
As event came to a close with special closing words from the Menahel on how to harness the amazing simcha into Limud Hatorah and Davening with a Chayus.
