Young Vacationer Evacuated From The Bahamas By Hatzolah Air After Falling Ill and Turning To Chabad

The following was adapted form a social media post from Hatzolah Air, telling the story of a five year old’s evacuation from the Bahamas after falling ill.

A young family vacationing in the Bahamas felt hopeless after being taken to a local medical center with their five year old having a hard time breathing. Faced with difficult decisions, they called for help and Hatzolah Air answered.

As the family watched their son’s oxygen saturation dropping, and seeing him gasping for air, the family grasped for a solution from what seemed like an impossible situation.

Feeling scared and very alone, they called friends and family for suggestions as the last flight from the Bahamas had already taken off for the day.

When Chabad and their local Hatzolah Branch told them about Hatzolah Air, they reached out and to their amazement, a volunteer team that included a Pediatric ER Physician and highly trained Paramedic landed on a Hatzolah Air Medevac Jet and came to the local Medical Center to perform the seamless bed-to-bed transfer to a Florida Hospital.

All for free.

The amazed family simply couldn’t share enough words of praise for all the case mangers, flight planners, service units and volunteers involved in this flight.

Every detail played a crucial role in the success of the mission, resonating with Hatzolah Air’s #OneTeamOneMission spirit.

In moments like these, the true strength of Hatzolah Air shines through — a blend of dedication, compassion, and expertise.
