Shliach Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz of Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida and Shliach Rabbi Fishel Zaklos of Chabad of Naples are here seen holding a plaque with a $20 Bill from the Rebbe given to the General Contractor of the “New Crown Heights Mikvah” 42 years ago.
The two Shluchim were officiating at the funeral of Mr. Charles Sues, a member and supporter of their communities. As the family was discussing the life of Mr. Sues, they mentioned that he had built two Mikvaot, one in Queens and the other in Crown Heights.
They said there had been a lot of issues with the Mikvah and Mr. Sues, a gifted engineer and contractor, was able to fix and build the Mikvah for the Crown Heights Community.
Mr. Charles Sues was honored by the committee set up to build the Mikvah and was given a plaque with a $20 bill from the Rebbe.
Rabbi Minkowicz called one of the ladies on the Mikvah committee and she said that the Rebbe was very involved in the Mikvah remodel and expansion, and said that the Rebbe was ready to close 770 in order to build the Mikvah.
At the request of Rabbi Minkowicz the family brought the plaque to the funeral to show everyone present the gift Mr. Charles Sues had received for building the Crown Heights Mikvah.
