Bochur Seriously Injured In Fall, At Least Four Arrested During Wednesday Night Simchas Bais Hashoeva in Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

Wednesday night, the second to last night of Chol Hamoed Sukkos 5784 in Crown Heights was an active night for Simchas Bais Hashoeva, and unfortunately not for all good reasons.

After hours of beautiful Simchas Yom Tov with singing and dancing taking over Kingston Ave, a gang fight between a group of Jewish teens who came into Crown Heights from a non-Lubavitch community broke out by 770. The NYPD, who have been dealing with many such low level incidents this Chol Hamoed, made at least four chaotic arrests, calling in additional officers from both the 77th Precinct and the 67th Precinct as they handcuffed the boys and dealt with large unruly crowds.

The NYPD’s reaction to the gang fight comes on the heels of three nights in which multiple assaults occurred surrounding the Simchas Bais Hashoeva event. According to reports from multiple victims and witnesses, the assaults appeared to be related as a group of Israeli teens were found to be responsible, targeting anyone who did not believe in their extremist views on the Rebbe and Mashiach with brass knuckles and pieces of wood.

Around 3:00am another serious incident marred the night as a bochur fell from traffic light pole he and a friend had been doing a stunt on.

The caught on video stunt took place at the corner of Kinston Ave and Crown Street as the two bochurim climbed up the pole and onto the arm on which the traffic light is attached. Swinging from it with their hands, the two dangled above the crowd. One of the two then jumped down, landing safely. As the other attempted to return to the pole he lost his grip and fell, falling to the concrete below and losing consciousness.

WARNING! This video contains disturbing content.

Crown Heights Hatzalah rushed the bochur to the hospital where he was intubated. Reports indicate that he is Boruch Hashem doing much better and has regained conciousness.

His name for Tehillim is מרדכי בן ציפורה רחל

The Rabbonim don’t do much. It’s too late to stop the outsiders but send the Israeli trouble makers home. Let them cause havoc in the holy land.
