Op-Ed: My Grandmothers Contact Paper

by Schneur K.

Do we give one of the most misleading marketing campaigns that landed us in a sticky mess another chance?

The recent article about the infamous unkosherdekel really struck a nerve. The general feeling I got upon reading this was that it’s Dekel who’s the victim, the one who is in a sticky mess.

Every bit of language in it’s marketing campaign was at best a stretch of truth. But coming after and allowing an article to be published on all the websites who had paid ads for your product is plain wrong.

The article blames to a worker in China but the language used on your product. “Manufactured by Dekel corp. Edison NJ.” Maybe Dekel would get more sympathy by blaming Russia.

My email request for a refund has yet to be answered. Very different from the immediate response I got when I originally inquired were to buy the product prior to Pesach. So to see the claim Dekel gave over 100k in refunds? Hmm. To whom exactly? The stores who sent you back their leftover product?

No. I don’t feel bad for Dekel and nope not a chance in the world will I give it another try in the future.

As I stand here bent over trying to remove this glue that Dekel said will “eventually” come off I officially rule this the same as my grandmother’s contact paper! Stupid. Expensive. Waste of time.
