When You Come Across A NYC Firefighter, And His Name Is Menachem Mendel

by CrownHeights.info

Everything is Hashgacha Pratis, but sometimes you wonder just how much Hashem has in store for you.

A Chabad Chossid stepping out of a barber shop on Grant Street with his son was walking along when he came across an FDNY fire truck. Hoping to give his son a good time, he requested of the firefighter in the rear compartment if his son could go up and get a picture.

To his surprise, the firefighter agreed.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the chossid asked if anyone on the truck was Jewish, and was piqued to hear that the firefighter himself was “somewhat Jewish”.

After discovering that “somewhat Jewish” meant his mother was Jewish, and he had no plans to join a seder, the Chossid gifted the firefighter a box of Matza, and asked him what his Jewish name was.

The chossid was shocked when he heard that the firefighters Jewish name was Menachem Mendel, and asked him to repeat it on camera.
