As COVID-19 sweeps through Jewish communities worldwide, each and every person asks themselves, “How can I help?”

Rabbi Mordechai Hecht asked himself this question, and found the answer in his tie collection. It was time to pass on the goodness.

Rabbi Hecht’s tie collection, spanning over 20 years and includes brand names including Stefano Ricci. Hermès, Zegna, and Mika Schon, will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to Queens Hatzalah.

Rabbi Hecht wrote on the Ebay auction that many of the ties were gifts from family and friends, but he is hoping to raise funds from the sale for Queens Hatzolah, of which he is a member.

He will be leaving himself with just two ties, but “But what’s a life worth after all.”

The tie collection is estimated to be worth around 3-5 thousand dollars.
