Hechel Shalom Or Oziel, a Sefardic Shul In Bal Harbor, Florida known as “The Shul”, was evacuated Monday morning due to a bomb scare.

The shul is run by Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskar and his son Rabbi Zalman Lipskar, and has become a center for Jewish life in Bal Harbor.

The evacuation did not stop the davening, simply changing the location of one of the nine daily minyonim, which continued unabated outside the shul.

The bomb scare also closed a nearby school, the Child Enrichment center, which sent the following message to its parent body: Due to the unforeseen situation at the Shul, the police instructed us that school be closed for today. We will god willing see you all tomorrow morning.
