Montreal Yeshiva at 66 Dinner

Montreal, Canada — Last night the annual dinner for Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim of Montreal marking 66 years since the founding of the yeshiva in the city. The dinner was in honor of philanthropist Ofer bazov who donated another wing of the building. Ofer is an alumni of the yeshiva and after his father died decided to donate a substantial amount in his memory.

The dinner also was in memory of the Rabbi of the Chabad community in Montreal Rabbi Yitzchok Hakohen Hendel obm who passed away recently and was among first group bochurim who founded the yeshiva in MarCheshvan 1942 upon the instructions of the Previous Rebbe.

The dinner was attended by a large crowd including the long-time “mashpia” Rabbi Menachem Zev Greenglass.

Among those who received Cirtificates of Honor were: Rabbi David Saba, the chief rabbi of the Sefardic community in Montreal, Ofer Bazov, Rabbi David Hakohen Cohen, Mr. Chaim Levitt, Rabbi Eliezer Wenger, Rabbi Binyamin Shtiffel, Rabbi Shlomo Banun and Ilan Reich.

The man behind the organization of the dinner was Menachem Lifsh.
