JEM: New Booklet of The Rebbe’s Care For Children With Special Needs
My Encounter has produced a moving story of the Rebbe and a social worker which brings to light the Rebbe’s ideology about dealing with special needs children.
Exceptional Wisdom for Exceptional Children is a stunning, large booklet, featuring a powerful story of Dr. Robert Wilkes, a social worker who worked with special needs children for over thirty years. Dr. Wilkes, who told the story when he was interviewed by the “My Encounter with the Rebbe” project, questioned the Jewish community’s role in helping children with special needs until he reached out to the Rebbe.
The story was made famous when it was published in My Story, and many asked for it to be disseminated. Now, it has been given the respect it deserves.
The letter at the beginning of the booklet can be personalized, and thus the booklet is perfect for Shluchim and Chabad Houses to give to Friendship Circle volunteers, parents, donors, and friends. Exceptional Wisdom will be distributed at the conference of Friendship Circle Shluchim next month.
