Canada’s New Prime Minister Lights Menorah with Shluchim

On Wednesday evening, the fourth night of Chanukah, newly elected Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau invited select members of the Canadian Jewish community to participate in a Menorah lighting ceremony on Parliament Hill.

Chabad’s Director of Public Affairs of the Canadian Federation of Chabad Lubavitch, Rabbi Chaim Mendelsohn, was invited to light the first candle of the menorah.

The Canadian Federation of Chabad Lubavitch is under the leadership of the Head Shluchim across Canada. There was an impressive delegation of Chabad shluchim who were on the invitation list, including Rabbis Mendel Raskin, Dovid Cohen, Chaim Boyarski, Dovid Hayes, Mendel Blum, Sholom Sternberg and others

The celebration was coordinated by newly elected Members of Parliament Anthony Housefather and Michael Levitt.

What in the world is the anti-Semite, Omar Alghabra, doing there?

Please say tehillim for Canada as we have just started to accept 25,000 Syrian refugees. Thanks, Trudeau. Great hair!

  • Shluchim

The menorah lighting was not organized by the shluchim, but they were invited. They should be very careful to give credit, where credit is due. It is also important to mention that many Jewish groups were there, including other Shluchim not mentioned, R. Mendelsohn was called up with Rabbi Mendy Zirkind.

Please mention all the facts in these stories.

    Thank you!
