Chabad Rabbi’s House Torched in Queens

A charred pile is all that is left of the home Rabbi Zalman Zvolonov was building here on 69th Road. It is the seventh and latest in a string of arsons in Forest Hills, and residents are on edge.

From NY1:

“We need extra security. We don’t feel secure no more,” Zvulonov said.

“The whole neighborhood doesn’t know where it’s going to strike next or what neighborhood it might strike next,” Forest Hills resident Ruth Lehman said.

Officials say the most recent fire happened around 12:30 Sunday morning. Firefighters had it under control less than two hours later.

Zvulonov says an arsonist targeted the home before, on November 15, but was unsuccessful.

Leaders from Bukharian Jewish Community Center gathered for an emergency meeting Sunday afternoon. The JCC’s members are afraid they are the arsonist’s target.

The Rebbe said: If Israel gives away land that Hashem helped them win in a miraculous way during the June 1967 SIX day war this will put the lives of Jews all over the world in danger

On a positive note: Even though The fight for Sh’Lemus Ha’Aretz seems overwhelming. We need to remember what it was like to fight for yiddishkeit in the Former Soviet Union (the 2nd most powerful country in the world).

And with the Rebbe’s guidance we won. & now the Soviet Union only exists in history books.

The former soviet union exists in History books. The new one is rising up and being led by Putin.

I am shocked by these comments. A little sympathy, people! Our Jewish brothers and sisters are being repeatedly targeted by an arsonist! That is quite terrifying. What if the next strike is in an inhabited house? I don’t even want to think how terrible that could be, especially in the middle of the night.

      Hi Rabbi Zalman Zvolonov

I am so saddened with the news about your home. I saw the article in all the chabad websites. I’m sure you are upset about the loss of any of your belongings that were in the house, but I’m so thankful to Hashem that you all escaped without injury.

If any of the chabad websites post a link to donate $$ to help you out. I’ll give what I can.

Letter No. 891: Blessings for a person who suffered a fire in his apartment; the adage: “After a fire one becomes wealthy”

    Greetings and blessings,

I was shocked to read your letter [describing] the fire that occurred in your apartment. Since I do not know if you have the sefer Derech Mitzvosecha ([see] the bottom of p. 228), I am copying a letter of the Tzemach Tzedek which he wrote concerning such a matter:

A copy of my revered grandfather’s1 writing:

I heard [the following explanation] from [sages] of the highest levels of holiness concerning the popular adage: “After a fire one becomes wealthy.”

I agree with #2. However, in the Rebbe’s ways, we must be pro-active and ask
    How Can We Help Him
What Can We do to Help

  • 1/2/17

you sit and bla bla with your comments???
Nothing about asking to help him? Are we all so passive?
    thats whats shocking.

I know… I can help out by outraging about how others aren’t asking about helping out.

      So.

YOU ARE BLA BLA BLA-ING but nothing about asking about how to help!
