Thousands of mourners from all walks of Jewish life gathered in Kfar Chabad, Israel, to pay their last respects to the vaunted Rov, Mara D’Asra, Posek, Torah giant and community leader, Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, OBM, who passed away suddenly on the 23rd of Teves, the day of his father’s Yahrtzeit.

What is with this new custom to show the mes in these pictures? It is disrespectful to the person, extremely painful to the family, and can be disturbing to younger readers. Please show sensitivity, and only allow pictures of the levaya, the crowd (which is respectful to the departed person) and not the mes. We are not ghouls like the outside world, hungering for sensationalism.

Instead of being quick to condemn and destroy you should think if perhaps… maybe… your making a fool out of yourself… which you are.

In Israel the custom is to bury niftarim in their tallaisim, since there is no law that there has to be an aron (box) like we have in the states.

It is not sensationalism, its simply the way they do it in Israel.
