Power of Jewish Children Winners Honored at Gala Dinner

The four young winners of the “Power of Jewish Children” flew in to New York for the 34th annual gala Tzivos Hashem dinner on Monday, December 8, at The Grand Prospect Hall and shared their achievement with 400 attendees and thousands of viewers online.

Tzivos Hashem, the largest Jewish Children’s organization worldwide inspires, enthralls and enriches the lives of Jewish children from all backgrounds giving them access to the wisdom and richness of their tradition and heritage.

Beginning with an elegant cocktail reception surrounded by an array of auction prizes, participants were soon ushered into the grand, landmark ballroom for the highlight of the event: The winners of the Power of Jewish Children Award.

The evening began with musical entertainment by Benny Friedman. Popular comedian Joel Chasnoff, who was the MC for the event, kept the audience laughing throughout the evening with his hilarious comedy bits and comic observations.

The event was sponsored by the Jacobson family in memory of their father, Reb Betzalel Jacobson, and grandfather, Reb Dovid Shmuel Parnes. Mendy J sang a song in tribute to his father and grandfather.

The winners of the Power of Jewish Children, whom presented and received their award at the dinner, were Eitan Bernath, Jamie Zimmerman together with Chloe Dahan, Mendel Minkowicz and Caley Coughlan.

Bernath was a contestant on “Chopped” and wowed the crowd with his cooking skills; however he truly inspired the audience with his Jewish pride and commitment to keeping Jewish tradition. Zimmerman shared with the crowd the performing arts class for girls with special need that she and her friend Dahan initiated called, Shooting Stars.

Minkowicz moved the crowd with the 18forRashi campaign he started in memory of his mother Rashi Minkowicz OBM. Coughlan excited the crowd with her enthusiasm for the jump-a-thon called Jeremey’s Jump she initiated in the memory of her Friendship Circle bowling buddy Jeremy.

Tzivos Hashem recognized these four talented and committed youth who have and are continuing to make the world a better place, inspiring children and adults to use their talents to help and motivate others as well.

The winners, who each received a trophy, cash prizes for themselves and a charity of their choice and a set of Jewish books, are shining examples of how our youth are dedicating themselves in making the world a better place.
