Shula’s Library Marks Namesake’s Fifth Yahrtzeit

A special magic show and rally marked the first anniversary of Shula’s Library in Jerusalem on Monday. The library is named after Shula Swerdlow, who passed away five years ago at age 3.

Over 100 children and adults attended the celebration, which included a magic show by Rabbi Shalom, who explained that magic is just an illusion and taught the kids how the tricks were done.

He also incorporated Jewish stories and lessons in serving Hashem with his tricks.

Later, the children said the Pesukim, made Brachas on treats and gave Tzedaka Li’Iluy Nishmas Alta Shula bas Yosef Yitzchak viHinda.

The library, founded 1 year ago by Hindel and Yossi Swerdlov in memory of their 3 year-old daughter Shula, who passed away 5 years ago, is now a bustling center of learning and activity.

Since its opening, the Library has become a community jewel that inspires its hundreds of visitors and members to interact and grow together in a warm environment of discovery and learning.

The Library is constructed in a beautiful, inviting tree house-like structure in the heart of Rechavia, Jerusalem, which since her first Yortzeit hosted ‘Shula’s Shul’ Minyan on Shabbos for children.
