Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s chief rabbi Berel Lazar visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem today, June 26, 2012. After saying a prayer at the wall as customary, Mr. Putin requested a tour of the temple mount tunnels, which they were promptly given by the Kotel’s rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch.

With a yarmulke on his head, Putin commented on the deep Jewish connection to the holy site: “You can see how the Jewish past is engraved in the stones of Jerusalem,” he said.

Nice. Putin brought his poodle and his poodle’s trainer with him to Eretz Yisroel.

Meanwhile, the nuclear material sales to Iran and weapons sales to the Assad regime continue.
