Students of Darchei Limud Enjoy End-of-Year Trip

Boys at Cheder Darchai Limud were rewarded with a trip to Strike Ten Lanes in Mill Basin, followed by a pizza and ice cream party at Dagan’s Pizza down the road. The boys had to work really hard for this trip; they were tested on the Chumash they had learned throughout the year, demonstrating mastery in the skills learnt and becoming engaged in the story from the text. For some of these boys, getting tested on entire perokim at once was quite a feat.

The trip was followed by a small prize and award ceremony that each boy received for his work throughout the year.

Cheder Darchai Limud is a supplementary half day school located at 580 Crown St. shul, which teaches children the skills to become independent learners. The idea is to provide children struggling in the mainstream setting with an alternative similar to a resource room (only this is a full fledged program that teaches social skills as well) without having to leave the system.

For the upcoming year, Cheder Darchai Limud is expanding beyond remediation to provide a challenge track for those who might be gifted but are underchallenged. This track will have a skill based component but the children will be demanded to cover more than what they would otherwise do in their regular school, using a unique method and curriculum exclusive to Cheder Darchai Limud.

  • Yasher Koach from Parents

Our son participated in Rabbi Adelist’s Darchei Limud’s program this year. It was a tremendous benefit, and we saw a real boost in our son’s learning and social skills over the course of the year.

His Rebbe’s in the regular Crown Heights yeshiva he attended commented on his improvement, his grades improved. The individual attention and customized learning was just what he needed. We just want to say Yasher Koach to Rabbi Adelist, Rabbi Ginsburg and the rest of the hanhola. Thank you.
