The Israeli consul general to New England called U.S. Senator Scott Brown “a true friend of Israel” at an event in the Lubavitch school in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Shai Bazak, who spoke to about 145 people at Yeshiva Chabad, said that the name of the Massachusetts Republican senator appears almost daily on reports compiled by the Israeli government as acting in the Senate against Iran and in other matters in Israel’s interest.

Mr. Brown, who also spoke at the gathering sponsored by the American Friends of Magen David Adom at 22 Newton Ave., said that he is moved by the security needs of the tiny Jewish state surrounded by enemies. He and Democratic Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Murray exchanged expressions of support for each other, with Lt. Gov. Murray saying that he works closely with Mr. Brown, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, on preserving the jobs and security provided by six military bases in Massachusetts.

Mr. Bazak said that Israel needs its friends and is fortunate to count the United States as its foremost friend and ally. “We don’t take it for granted,” the diplomat said.

Mr. Bazak called Israel one of the most advanced democracies in the world. “Europe has more rules against Muslims than we have in Israel,” he said.

All religions can practice freely in Jerusalem since Israel gained control of the entire city in 1967, he said.

He noted that one of the judges in the trial that convicted former Israeli president Moshe Katsav, who is serving a seven-year term, is an Israeli Arab. In Israel “no one is above the law,” he said.

Mr. Bazak said that Israel is an outpost of Western values in the Middle East. Israel’s neighbors hate the country not only because it is Jewish, he said, but because they fear their children will adopt its values.

Mr. Bazak said that he and other Jews pray three times a day for peace while Israel’s enemies teach their children to hate. He said Israel can survive only by being strong enough to convince its enemies that it will not give up its values or its land.

The gathering was sponsored by American Friends of Magen David Adom, MathAltitude School of Mathematics and Yeshiva Chabad of Worcester.

Magen David Adom, Israel’s version of the Red Cross, provides first-responder services in a country that had 5,100 rockets rain down on it during conflicts with Lebanon in 2006 and Gaza, according to the organization.

First all #1, this is just a news article not an endorsement of any particluar person–if you read the article there were Democrats there as well.
As for ms. Warren, there had be a signifidcant reason why she was not accepted for the government post even by her own party.

#1, you mean the dishonest Elizabeth Warren, who listed herself as a “minority” when her career could benefit from it, and then stopped when she’d reached the peak and didn’t need it any more?
