New Educational Center Inaugurated in Paris

On Monday, March 10, emotions were at their peak as the ribbon for the new Beth Hillel Educational Center in Paris, France was cut.

Beth Hillel is the fourth link in the Sinai network of Jewish institutions, founded by Rabbi Hillel Pevzner, OBM.

In the presence of a large crowd of friends, supporters and many community and political figures, including former Israeli Chief Sephardic Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Groner, former Israeli Ambassador to France Mr. Avi Pazner, Rabbi Shalom Gorodetsky, Rabbi Y.D. Frankforter, chief Rabbi of Paris Rabbi Michel Guegenheim, President of the Consistory of Paris Joel Mergui and President of the CRIF Roger Cukierman.

The Israeli Ambassador to France, Yossi Gal, was prevented at the last moment from attending, but he sent a very warm message for the occasion.

All were present by a common desire to pay tribute to the veteran educator Rabbi Hillel Pevzner, OBM. Rebbetzin Pevzner unveiled the inaugural plaque, and two Mezuzahs were affixed by Rabbi Amar and Rabbi Groner.

All the speakers emphasized the satisfaction of seeing R’ Hillel’s work perpetuated by his wife and his family, especially by his son Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Pevzner, Executive Director of Sinai Institutions.

A beautiful choir performance by the students of Sinai moved everyone present, followed by a performance by guest singer Chaim Israel. 

In the evening, a gala dinner in honor of the new institution was attended by over 500 people, whose goal was to financially support this outstanding achievement.
