New Mesivta to Open in Monsey
On Motzoei Shabbos, parents of 7th and 8th grade talmidim of Cheder Chabad of Monsey gathered at Tzemach Tzedek Shul, under the leadership of Rabbi Boruch Dov Lesches, to announce a new initiative; namely, the formation of a new Mesivta.
Due to popular demand, a committee of local leaders and parents was formed for the purpose of undertaking this endeavor.
After months of extensive research, detailed planning and scouting to find a suitable Menahel Ruchni for the new Monsey Mesivta, Rabbi Menachem Aizenman of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was chosen for the position.
Rabbi Aizenman and his family spent this past Shabbos in Monsey, where he informally met and greeted prospective talmidim and parents.
He was officially introduced to the parents of potential talmidim on Motzoei Shabbos at the Tzemach Tzedek Shul. Rabbi Aizenman presented in detail his vision for a successful Mesivta that will attract talmidim of high-caliber from far and near.
He took questions from parents and advised them of the advantages that this Mesivta will offer.
Rabbi Aizenman has been consulting with menahalim of successful Lubavitcher Mesivtas and a range of educators and mechanchim, both local and outside the community, including Rabbi Ezra Schochet of Los Angeles and Rabbi Nochum Kaplan of the Merkos Chinuch Office.
Parents left the meeting enthused and excited.

When will Lubavitch realize that it does not require a new Mesivta that will run on the same lines as all the other ones? Yeshivas that actually make a difference in people’s lives, like the RAP or Wilks, are moving ahead, while the other one’s are lagging behind in so much. Make a Yeshiva where teenagers are treated as such, where Bochurim can ask questions and create themselves as oppose to Roshei Yeshivos building them as robots.
