Picture of the Day: The Inspector and the Rabbi

Taking some time out of his busy schedule, Deputy Inspector John Lewis, commanding officer of the 71st Precinct, visited the home of Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky ahead of the High Holidays.

The impromptu meeting was arranged and attended by Gadi Hershkop, Coordinator of Crown Heights Shomrim.

Rabbi Bogomilsky complimented inspector Lewis on the way he has been handling the security of the neighborhood and how he is ‘hands-on’, to which Lewis responded “I believe that in order for people to trust you they need to be able to see you”.

The two also discussed matters pertaining to the upcoming High Holidays and the proximity of the West Indian (Labor) Day Parade to Rosh Hashana.

I am very happy to hear that there are people out there caring about the security and well being of our community. at the same token we need to remember all of the people that live in the Utica areas that are not so well watched. they need hefty duty security out there. whether it is a child or a mother with a a carriage.

  • Thanks

Thanking all of you for your community service! Inspector Lewis and Officer Silverstein of the NYPD for bringing a better police/community environment, for Rabbi Bogomilsky for being a fountain of wisdom and authority of Jewsih law for hundreds in our community and abroad, and for Gadi Hershkop who is constantly dedicated to keeping us safe for past 20+ years!

    • thank you

You could not have said it better! May Hashem bless you all for going above & beyond!

Who needs Chanina Sperlin as our Intergovernmental, we should vote him out!!!

Oh wait, we did vote him out in 2010 and yet he’s still pretending to represent us.

Thank you Gadi Hershkop for actually being out there day after day helping and assisting us.

May Hashem bless you and the entire Shomrim family with health, wealth and happiness until 120. May you guys (Shomrim) have a sweet boring year. May Hashem protect you from all enemies from outside and sadly from within.

  • Rabbi Bogomilsky should be......

I wish that Rabbi Bogomilsky would become the Rov of Crown Heights.

Rabbi Bogomilsky is a Rov in Crown Heights and beyond.

Those days of having a terrorist Beth Din who do the bidding of the corrupt cabal of the CHJCC/Vaad Hakoul are long gone and will never return.

The realty is that Crown Heights is not one community. There are many shuls, each shul its very own community.

Everyone must chose his own Rabbi to guide them. You can’t have others chose for you.
