Kehot Publication Society: History of the Chabad Publishing House

In its 70-year history, the Kehot Publication Society has published and disseminated many hundreds of publications on all matters of Jewish interest from Chasidic philosophy to halacha to educational texts and reading material for the young. KPS is currently one of the world’s largest Jewish publishers.

Compiled and edited by Rabbi Zusha Wolff, of Kfar Chabad, Israel, Kehot Publication Society: History of the Chabad Publishing House traces the history of KPS from its founding in 1941 through its development throughout the years, with particular emphasis on the direct involvement and input of its president the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory.

Hundreds of facsimiles of the Rebbe’s annotations, comments and directives are interspersed throughout the text. A unique chapter highlights the Rebbe’s approach to the unique function of a Jewish book and the responsibilities associated with its publishing.

Kehot Publication Society has been released to mark the 70-year anniversary of the founding of the publishing house.

The hefty book is written in Hebrew and contains 750 pages. It is available online at KehotOnline.com
