Baltimore’s former Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Dovid Weber is settling in Monsey to open a new Zal with Rabbi Simcha Werner. He’s bringing along a young Mashpia and Magid Shiur.

Chabad of Monsey, under the auspices of its Shliach Rabbi Simcha Werner, is proud to announce the opening of a Beis Medrash/Zal in Monsey, NY. The Yeshiva will be under the leadership of its Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Dovid Weber, founder of Yeshivas Lubavitch of Baltimore and son of the renowned Mechanech Rabbi Shaye Weber of Yerushalayim.

Rabbi Weber, throughout the past decade, has had countless Talmidim under his guidance. He is well-known for his experience in the fields of Chinuch and for his devotion to his Talmidim. Rabbi Weber will be joined by Rabbi Hershel Stolik of Crown Heights and Rabbi Yehuda Leib Altien of Montreal. Rabbi Stolik is recognized for his capabilities in Hashpaah and will serve as the Yeshiva’s Mashpia, and Rabbi Altein, recognized for his skills in Hasbarah, will serve as Magid Shiur of Shiur Aleph.

Monsey, one of the largest Jewish communities in America, is arguably also the fastest growing Lubavitcher community. A beautiful suburban town just about an hour drive from Crown Heights, Monsey is already host to many Chabad Mosdos, amongst them, a Cheder for boys and girls respectively, a Mesivta, a girls high school and several Shuls.

  • Proud Monseyite

I never realized that Monsey is one of the largest Jewish communities in America. I guess it stands to reason, with all the building going on, we have a large population. I’m very happy that there will be a Zal here next year.

  • Monsey - a full Lub Center

Am surprised that you have mentioned he fantastic work down by Rabbi Lesches. His talents and extensive experiences as a Rosh Yeshiva and Mashpia will complement the proposed staff of the Yeshivs Centre.
