On the 110th birthday of Rebbitzen Chaya Mushka, obm, the students and staff of the Chaya Aydel Seminary in Hallandale Beach, Florida, published a unique Haggadah, “At Psach Lo”, with essays and insights written by the Seminary students.

The Haggadah is a compilation of traditional and contemporary sources, along with original insights from young women from around the world who attend the Seminary. The students had a tremendous “feeling of accomplishment” by publishing the Haggadah just in time, so that it could grace their parents Seder tables, be it in Crown Heights, France, England and from wherever the students are from.

Rabbi Yossy Lebovics, the school’s principal, gives special mention to three students; Riva Goldwasser, Chanie Sogarsky, and Penina Spalter, for their dedication and assistance in proofreading and editing the essays.

Rabbi Lebovics is a renowned Mechanech, who has been principal of the Seminary since its inception. Together with his wife Chanie, the Lebovics’ have created a world class Teachers Seminary, that nurtures students
24/7 and has seen many graduates move on as the finest teachers, Rebbetzins and Shluchos all over the world.

The Seminary is under the auspices of Chabad of South Broward, under the directorship of Rabbi and Mrs Raphael Tennenhaus. As part of the introduction to the Haggadah, Rabbi Tennenhaus writes about the obligation of (even) Jewish women and girls to discover original Torah insights.

The Chaya Aydel Seminary is named after the late renowned Montreal educator, Mrs Chaya Aydel Lebovics, obm,
the late mother of Rabbi Lebovics and sister of Rabbi Tennenhaus.

This September, the Seminary will begin its 10th year of existence, as 15 Elul will mark the 10th Yahrzeit of Mrs Lebovics. The Seminary was launched on the first Yahrzeit of Mrs Lebovics, in 2002.
