Kehot Releases Exciting New English Haggadah

Year after year we gather with family and friends for the traditional Passover Seder and reading of the Haggadah.     I don’t think we need to make this a which one is better thing. There is enough room to have different types of Chabad haggados that each one has its value. I’m sure there are things in the Gutnick version that are better than in the Kehos one. For example, i assume the Kehos edition will not have the Harachaman hu yevarech es adoineninu moreinu vrabeinu vchulu. I would have prefered if Gutnick would have put in the whole tefilah (melech hamoshiach leoilam voed) but at least he hinted about it with vechulu.
    On the other hand the Gutnick edition may not have all the information, or the layout that’s in the Kehos edition, like you pointed out, and so on.

    I can’t say one way or the other about the content of the Kehos haggadah but the Kol Menachem haggadah literally won an award – a secular one at that! for book design.

    I think we are judging before seeing. Kol Menachem’s haggadah has just a small selection of the Rebbe’s comments. The new Kehot one which is like their pirkei avos has hundreds of comments by the Rebbe and hundreds more from medrash to kbabala. The design looks much nicer too. Maybe it will also win an award.

    But why do we need to compare? It’s all good.

    What is the mitzvah though to compare one to the other which leads to putting one down etc? They are both a great edition to hafatzas hamayanos.
    Let’s go all go out of our boundaries and biases. There’s enough room for several more Chabad beautiful haggados to come out and i’m sure each one can be different.

  • We are big enough to have a few haggadah

    Thank G-d that the English-speaking crowd in Lubavitch is MASSIVE, and it’s a big market for any Chabad English publication.

    We started with a translation of the Rebbe’s Haggada by Rabbi Immanuel Schochet (should have a Refuah Shleima BeKarov)

    Then we got a Haggada “The Rebbe’s Seder Table” which was made by Rabbi Eli Touger (which had explanations from the Rebbe).

    Then we got the Kol Menachem Haggada made by Chaim Miller (which has explanations from the Rebbe)

    And now we have the Kehot Haggada.

    I will buy the Kehot Haggada, and use it IYH this Pesach.

    I try to use a New Haggada every Pesach

    I already have the Schochet Haggada, the Touger Haggada, The Kol Menachem Haggada, also the Heichal Menachem Hebrew Haggada, the “Hagadat HaRabbi” of the Meshichistin, Haggada Shel Pesach of Vaad LeHafotzas Sichos, and 1 or 2 more Chabad Haggados.
