Rabbi Piekarski in Morristown Yeshiva – not Permanent

MORRISTOWN, NJ [CHI] — Since the beginning of the new school year a flurry of rumors have been spreading about the recent appearance of Rabbi Ephraim Piekarski in the Zal of the Morristown Yeshiva these past few weeks.

Today the dean of the Yeshiva and head Shliach to the state of New Jersey, Rabbi Moshe Herson got up and clarified most of these rumors. “Rabbi Piekarski is currently here on a day to day and week to week basis” he said, adding that he is here to see how to make a good yeshiva better.

Following Rabbi Herson, Rabbi Piekaeski got up and told the Bochurim “that he wants to hear from the Bochurim what is bothering them both B’Gashmius and B’Ruchnius

Bochurim assumed that Rabbi Piekaeski would take the roll as Menahel Ruchny, and these speeches clarified that it hasn’t been confirmed yet, but one Bochur said “he’s unofficially here permanently.”

Two additional staff members have been added to meet the increase in Bochurim for this year. 135 Bochurim are sitting and learning in zal compared to 70 last year. The staff members are Rabbi Levin who will be a Maggid Shiur in Chassidus and help out Bochurim in Nigleh, along with Rabbi Araleh Oster as a Meishiv in Nigleh, while Rabbi Wilschanski remains as the Rosh Yeshiva.

“You can all send out your text messages and tell your friends” concluded Rabbi Herson.

  • Morristown you got it right!!!

wow!! morristown you finally got it…
Rabbi piekarski is the number one menhal ruchni in lubavitch HANDS DOWN!! there is no question about it, just ask all the thousands of talmidim that still have a personal kesher with the man.
Rabbi levin is brilliant, a smart on the ball person who UNDERSTANDS bochurim.

Wow oholei torahs loss is definitly moristowns gain…
its high time we get rid of the old establishment in oholei torah and bring in some young blood who recognizes who the best teachers and menhalim are.

Why has no-one commented that this is because Rabbi Wilshansky was FIRED? (as menahal, and now is just a maggid shuir)

  • The same Mo-town Convict

And for that matter, why has no one written that the Cheder in Morristown was at a mexican standoff for 2 weeks because they had no money, no one wanted to run it, and no one wanted to fundraise or it?

It is enough that they made the teachers give mandatory tzedakah from April of last year??

  • Old Talmid

If he is good he wont last there, just like Rabbi Heber whom no one was able to replace from many years ago.

let this be a lesson for other yeshiva’s. better or worse this is a time for change, what worked in the 70’s worked in the 80’s ad what worked in the eighties even worked in teh 90’s but afterwards – major change in bochurim outlook, Rebbe Chassishkeit, in a most deep and enternal way – that we need young blood, young guys who are more understanding and look at things with a fresh outlook, not only in yeshiva’s but in general, just look who built up major grocery chains in CH, one ( or for a while) two young guys, others, older stores are just sitting with minor moves, but nothing major – mosdos needs young eneregy and blood – shame on all those old time thinkers who bury thier head in the sand saying same rebbe, same CH same chassidis

i enjoy this website except when people use it to anonymously spread rumors about public figures in the chabad community.

  • skeptic

I guess Sholom went to OT. That was one illiterate comment.

We had sons in MT. A disaster. Hopefully, Rabbi P etc can pull it together & restore this once proud Yeshiva to its former glory. It needs a lot of help.

  • a bochur in motown and loving it

Hey if you don’t know rabbi wilshanski than don’t talk because he is the first person I look for to ask a question in zal in time of need and he answers greatand slow and brings it down to my level.
So just keep quiet. And I know I’m not the only one who likes him a lot.

  • yosK

good jb mo-town finnialy trying to beaf up the competition to OT – best of luck u guys really deserve it

  • think before you type

I agree 100% with Esther. I think that all of the bochurim that are writing would be quite embarrased if they found out that these Rabbeim knew who was writing the comments. The comment section underneath articles may be the place for people to express their opinions and views, but we must keep in mind the mitzvah lo’ taaseh of Lashon Hara.
In addition, remember that it is almost Rosh Hashana!

  • p.e. hakohein

Rabbi piekarsky is a fine man and jew and i liked him in o.t. zal.

    i wish him good luck.

any yeshiva that has him is lucky.

To my good friends Esther and think before you type, I am glad that you can sit behind the desk and speak, I was there and am willing to stand by what I say. Feel free to email me at convictmotown@gmail.com and we can discuss it further.

And to the current bochur…I enjoyed his shiurim…his class on shulchan aruch was phenomenal, he went slowly and explained everything clearly.

    As a menahal…..

The bochurim from Manchester this year ONLY came because Rabbi Gantz is giving their shuir….

All in all, good for them.

    Mazel Tov
It is great to hear that the Yeshiva has 75 more bocharim this year then last. Lets do the math. On average $10,000 per student times 75 new students= $750,000. Rabbi Herson added 2 new people to the Hanola. What happens with the rest of the money? Did tuition go down this year????????
