BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — The Shluchim Placement Bureau, a division of The Shluchim Office, has launched MyShlichus.com, a fresh and high-tech way for Shluchim to find the ideal husband-wife team, and for the yungerliet (our next generation of shluchim) to find their ideal shlichus. Over the years, the placement department has been making ‘shlichus matches’ and leveling the playing field. The added benefit of our new website is to make it even simpler and easier, for Shluchim and future-Shluchim to find each other.

For both Shluchim and those seeking Shlichus, simply fill out their information in our straightforward and comprehensive questionnaire. Then you will be able to view all those options that match! No more complicated resumes or job descriptions. Once you are in the system, you can instantly contact whoever you are interested in, and you will be alerted to all new matches.

In addition to the computerization of a tediously human process, – MyShlichus.com still has the benefit of the human touch. Placement Department Director, Rabbi Aharon Fehler, will be personally overseeing each entry, and he is available to assist both sides throughout the entire process, from initial signup, through the interviews to the final contract.

Shiduchim for Shluchim – brilliant way to help the shlichus crisis, with hundreds of potential shluchim seeking their life shlichus! Rabbi Ahron Fehler, we salute your leadership!!

Aharon – you is the man. As it says in Perek: Where there is no wo/man, you be the wo/man.

  • Just wondering

Who did placement 10 – 20 years ago before this project was started? Is’nt the Shluchim Office a Division of Merkos Linyonai Chinuch? and this just an offshoot of what happened for the last 50 years?

Both the needs, talents and expertise of yungerleit and Chabad Centers have become very specific. Today there are both multiple more centers of Chabad and hundreds of potential shluchim then there was 20 – 50 years ago. Each Center has its own needs and culture while each yungerman brings his own individual telents and personal requirements.

Just Wondering asked what happened 10-20 years ago (or for the last 50 years)?

Well, obviously Just Wondering is out of tune with the world of shlichus. Today there is a wide range of “new” and specialized shlichus, much of which did not exist 20 years ago and certainly not 50 years ago.

The gamut of “job descriptions” ranges from the innovative Friendship Circle and Chabad Learning Institute all the way to Smicha Programs.

Shlichus today is not “one size fits all”, and the Shluchim Placement Bureau recognize this. Rabbi Aharon Fehler identified various criteria to assist matching the right candidate for the right placement. The form is detailed, thorough, and well thought out.

One of the themes we repeatedly heard from the Rebbe is not to be complacent.

We must not sit on our laurels with an attitude that what we did 50 years ago is good enough for today.

Growth, innovation, use of new technogolgy and resources that are available must be utilized to achieve more, reach higher, and maximize our potential.

A final note in response to Just Wondering: Those who don’t, complain.
It’s never too late to fill the form on MyShlichus.com, and with Rabbi Aharon Fehler’s help (and if you are worthy the zechus), you too can enlist in the Rebbe’s Army.

Hey Just Wondering – Did you have a cell phone 20 years ago? I didn’t think so. How about a computer? And is the cell phone an “off shoot” of your home rotary phone? Is the computer a division of your calculator? Maybe. But you certainly wouldn’t think of them in such terms… even if you were just wondering.

The Shluchim Office is the “front line support” for the Shluchim. And the wonderful people that work name, such as Rabbi Aharon Fehler are “first responders”.

Instead of just wondering, they are just wonderful.

  • Still wondering

    To Kop Doktar,

Im not sure why you went on a whole rampage over here (unless there is something you feel you have to excuse)

    – I was just wondering and asked a simple question – who was doing this 1 year ago before the great Rabbi Aharon Fehler got married? and 20 years ago before Merkos established the Shluchim office – (and did the shluchim office do this since they started or did they take it over from something else…?)

Just looking for a bit of the history

  • Toishov Hashchuna

It’s better to look ahead than to look behind for a bit of history.

One reason: A head is prettier than a behind. Is it clear?

In the past, no one was doing very much (if anything at all) regarding placement. Now, people care.
