Jewish Teen Struck While Bicycling On Empire Blvd, Driver Claims To Be The Victim

by CrownHeights.info

An absurd incident unfolded in Crown Heights Wednesday evening when a young bochur biking on Empire Blvd was struck by a car, and the driver attempted to claim that their car had been hit, and they were the victim.

According to a witness of the incident, the bochur had been biking on the sidewalk on Empire Blvd between Troy Ave and Schenectady Ave and was approaching P.S. 221 when a person, allegedly a teacher in the school, pulled out from the school’s driveway and struck the bochur’s bike. The bochur was thrown to the floor and his bike tires bent.

Initially, the driver of the vehicle came over to check on the bochur and ensure he was ok. Then things started getting weird.

“A whole bunch of people came out of the school and began telling the driver to claim that she had been hit by the bicyclist,” the witness claimed. “The boy was being intimidated.”

The witness, a Crown Heights resident, went over and intervened. Hatzalah was called and the bochur’s parents notified.

“When the police came the lady filed a police report that the bochur had struck her car,” the witness said.

The bochur was transported to Maimonides Hospital by Hatzalah, and the witness secured the bochur’s damaged bike.

Crown Heights Shomrim was also called and was able to retrieve footage of the incident showing the bochur being hit and thrown from the bicycle.
