Kingston Ave Crash Temporarily Stops Traffic

by CrownHeights.info

Kingston Ave traffic came to a sudden halt Tuesday morning when a driver crashed his car into a parked truck, then bailed and fled on foot.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:15am Tuesday on Kingston Ave between Union Street and Eastern Parkway when the driver went nose first into a white box truck parked outside Chocolatte.

With the car now blocking the entire Kingston Ave, the driver jumped out of the car and ran away, leaving his vehicle behind with extensive front end damage. An MTA bus completed the traffic jam, unable to get past the crashed car and blocking all others.

Thankfully the driver left his keys inside the vehicle, allowing for a police officer stationed nearby to drive the vehicle out of the way of traffic just minutes later.

No injuries were reported and the damage to the truck appeared to be minimal.

Full story from a witness: The african-ammerican drive rear-ended a Jewish man’s car near Khan’s. Hee the attempted to flee, but he hit the white box-truck parked near Mendy’s. He then abandoned his car and fled on foot. Two-abled bodied and handsome bochurim (one in a purple shirt who appeared to be a bodybuilder) chased him down and apprehended him. The police took him into custody.
