Drunk Driver Injures 4 in Collision, Police Issue Parking Violation

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A motorist, driving while taking hits from a bottle of vodka, rear-ended a minivan loaded with four passengers earlier tonight and injuring them. Adding insult to injury, one police officer saw it fit to issue the minivan a parking violation for ‘blocking a crosswalk’.

The incident occurred on Empire Boulevard and Brooklyn Avenue at around 10:00pm. Both vehicles, a SUV driven by the drunk driver and a minivan, were traveling down Brooklyn when the SUV rear ended the minvan.

Eyewitnesses said that the driver of the SUV got out of the car – obviously sloshed – and kept repeating that “its ok, its ok” then attempted to flee on foot. Witnesses spring into action and stopped the man and held him until police arrived who immediately placed the man under arrest.

Hatzalah treated the injured and transported them to a local hospital.

The container of alcohol, a 1 liter bottle of Soplica vodka, was plainly visible in the SUV whose interior smelled heavily of alcohol.

One police officer saw it fit to issue a $115 parking violation to the damaged minivan for blocking a crosswalk, despite it being damaged from the collision. The officer claimed that the woman had blocked the intersection prior to the collision. The drunks’ car, which was left parked by a fire hydrant, was not ticketed.

  • Why not give the police employee-s name?

So that proper credit can be given for making sure to blame the victim so that the perpetrator won’t be offended at having been arrested.

  • Lets protest

Obviously that cop is not a mench but an antisemite lets get together and protest the illegal ticket

Ya The name and shield number Of the Jew hating cop who gave us the Summons is Po dolson shield 941675 From the 71 precinct!!

  • not surprised

of course he would ticket the injured party if he could have arrested them he would have done that too. the police have gone way beyond being inefficient, they are going out of their way to to turn a situation around and making the vicitim out to be the perp. I have seen this so many times. if it would be a movie I would say it was a bad comady, however its just a typicalof the NY PD, which really really scary.

The police don’t think of us as normal. They all know that we worship a red chair, that we make room for a deceased person to walk into shul, that we wear yamukas declaring a dead person alive. They also know that we drive around in trucks and call them Tanks, ane we don’t really get along well

if i was livin there and this car was near my home i would cut all four tire valves and ‘key’ the car………..brooklyn style………..maybe even bend both wiper arms broken and drop raw eggs and pepsi all over the car and windows

  • fight the ticket.

I would fight the ticket, and show a copy of the accident report and photos of the damage to the car. I am sure with that evidence it will be dismissed.
