Hit-n-Run Driver Leaves His License Plate Behind

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Fleeing the scene of an accident is never a good idea, especially when you leave behind one of your license plates. A man in a Pontiac sedan was driving down Empire Boulevard and careened into a parked mini-van and a truck, mangling his own car.

The incident took place yesterday, Tuesday, at around 12:00pm between Troy and Schenectady Avenues when the driver swerved around another vehicle, striking it and spinning around and smashing in to the two parked cars. The driver, a Black male, got out of his car, inspected the damage in front of group of people, who were astounded when he got back in to his smashed up car and fled.

One person from the group wrote down his license plate number but when police tried to check it, it turned out to be incorrect. Later when the minivan was towed to a body shop the license plate of the car was found beneath it among other debris.

The exact same thing happened to me years ago in Boro Park! I came back to my car to find it up on the sidewalk. I couldn’t believe that the driver had the chutzpah to say he wasn’t even there when the cops tracked him down!!!

Funny thing is, in my case the guy was Polish! Honestly!

There is something going on. You mean the person in the group wrote the licence plate number which was on the exact car, I would say that this plate was made up by that person or something is not right.
