CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Jewish woman was injured after being struck by a car on Empire Boulevard in front of Empire Kosher. The incident took place at around 7:30pm, the woman was apparently crossing in the middle of the street and did not notice oncoming traffic.

Hatzalah responded to the scene and treated the woman, who suffered injuries but B”H they were not life threatening, and was transported to Kings County Hospital for further treatment and observation.
That area of Empire had become a particular danger since the opening of the new supermarket, with customers crossing the two-way Empire in the middle of the street. Residents need to take extra care and cross in the crosswalks.

chevra please don’t let anyone you know cross in the middle to get to Balfour or Lamont go a few seconds more (or minutes) to the corner of Brooklyn or Kingston. This is where another lady was killed for the same reason last year or 2 ago, and many other other near FATAL mishaps.
Let you kids know too – crossing in the middle is a gamble and could cost them a limb or life!
