The latest viral phenomenon to sweep social media is ‘the mannequin challenge.’ Making sure the Jewish people are not left out, filmmaker Meir Kalmenson set about creating a Bar Mitzvah version, getting everyone involved: Bubby, Zaidy, cousins, friends and even the catering crew.

We are better than this.
Huh? It’s not a new idea. It’s copied from the goyim. And unlike the ice bucket challenge, this has no toichen: nothing is gained, no donations raised for research or to assist someone in need, no awareness of an unknown illness, no nothing.
I pray this shtus does not catch on in our circles.

Lighten up. Come up with a better idea and make it go viral. If you can’t do that then stop being such a downer.
