New York City Mayor John Lindsay meets with the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1968.

Weekly Living Torah Video: The Rebbe on crime in NYC

In the late ’60s in New York City, certain neighborhoods of Brooklyn were experiencing intense racial tensions. In the winter of 1968, New York City Mayor John Lindsay came to discuss the situation with the Rebbe.

The clip features a recently discovered audio recording restored by JEM’s archival team. Special thanks to Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook of Lahak Hanochos, who brought it to JEM.
