Video: Is There a Better Me?
In February of 1971, Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb found himself at a major crossroads in life. Having recently received both his Ph.D. in psychology and rabbinic ordination, Rabbi Weinreb was at a loss as to which professional path to follow. At the urging of a close friend, he called the Rebbe for advice — and received a most unusual instruction.
“Speak to yourself [about your dilemma],” the Rebbe told him.
In an exclusive video presented by Torah Cafe, Rabbi Weinreb explains what he believes the Rebbe meant by this unorthodox piece of advice – and how he’s put it into practice for the past 40 years.
Originally delivered at the 2013 National Jewish Retreat, Rabbi Weinreb’s moving and amusing lecture combines his unbelievable encounter with the Rebbe with his decades of experience as a psychological counselor to give novel insight into the unique power of introspection in a person’s avodas Hashem.

Talk to your self means: stop being a split personality.
I always talk to myself
because my wife doesn’t listen.
lovely message
but the guy comes across as self-aggrandizing
