‘EnerJew’ Opens a New Branch in Briansk, Russia
EnerJew, the FJC’s Jewish youth movement across the Former Soviet Union, announced the opening of a new branch in the city of Briansk, Russia.
The youth movement, now already active in 25 cities in five different countries, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Georgian and Azerbaijan, is excited by the opportunity to expand its activity to one of the most prominent Jewish communities in the region.
The city’s youngsters, aged 13-17, have been invited to join ongoing meetings and special events, including the special local and international seminars, Shabbatonim, and counselor and coordinator training programs.
“Jewish life in Briansk is thriving,” says the city’s Rabbi Mendy Zaklas. “We are happy to welcome EnerJew and look forward to deepening the involvement of our future generation in the varied activities our community offers. Our youth is the key to Jewish continuity.”
