100s Turn Out for Sydney’s Sukkos Hakhel Event
In a show of great unity in the spirit of Hakhel, many of Sydney’s Jewish communities came together to celebrate Sukkos, with their annual Pizza in the the Sukkah that was a real Sukkos treat.
Many hundreds came to the park to participate in what turned out to be a wonderful function.
It was really a special day for all those who participated in the celebrations. Many had the first opportunity to make the blessing on the Lulav or eat in a Sukkah, everyone enjoyed the great festive atmosphere and the tasty Pizza.
The Kids had so much fun, with Jumping Castles, Bungee trampoline, Mini Jeeps, Petting Zoo, Face painting and of course the outstanding Pizza and Magic Show.
Many spoke of the great atmosphere and the opportunity to bring children to celebrate in a fun and festive environment.
The event was coordinated by the Chabad Youth Network, a Chabad NSW initiative, as part of the overall aim of providing informal Jewish Education.
“It is so important that our kids have these positive experiences associated with the festival so they will be positively impacted and remember it for a long time” said Rabbi Elimelech Levy, Director of Chabad Youth Network.
We are very grateful to all the partners who helped promote the function, as well as the CSG and local Police personal who took the time to participate in the festivities.
We look forward to next years Sukkot event where we hope to build on this years success and reach further in serving our community.
