European People’s Party Commissioner Honored
The European Jewish Community Centre celebrated Chanukah at the Headquarters of the EU – The Berlaymont with Commissioner Michel Barnier from France.
Commissioner Barnier said: “The EU was built under the basis of Multiculturalism, therefore this celebration has an important place in our European society”.
The event displayed an exhibition called “Expressions of Light” by artist photographer Ale Pytowski.
Mrs. Nehama Tawil was the emcee of the evening. Mr. Jonathan Faull, Director General at the European Commission and a friend of the EJCC said “I work in the EC for over 25 years and I’m pleased that for the past five years Chanukah is being celebrated here”.
