Jewish Pride and Unity on Display in Kharkov, Ukraine

Hundreds of men, women and children joined the Grand Lag BaOmer Parade at the Ecopark Feldman Zoo in Kharkov, Ukraine.  Despite it falling in the middle of the week, a large crowd came to enjoy an amazing day with Jewish pride on full display.

The kindergarten, Cheder Chabad, Or Avner Day School, Machon girls program, Yeshiva Ketana and the Stars Students Club led the parade which began on the main highway leading into the zoo.

Rabbi Moshe Moskovitz welcomed the crowd, emphasizing the Rebbe’s message of unity and pride. Alexander Feldman, who is a Ukrainian MP, was clearly proud that the parade and program was able to take place in Kharkov after so many years of repression.

Alexander Kaganovsky, the President of the community thanked the organizers and the Ecopark Zoo for making the day truly unforgettable.

After the reciting of the 12 Pesukim, the school and cheder made a small concert to the delight of their proud parents. After the parade went through the park and forest, the bonfire was lit and the festivities began with a horse show, zoo circus, jumping castles and bow and arrow practice kept the crowd entertained throughout the day.
