New Chabad House for Students in Paris

A property was purchase for a new Chabad House in central Paris yesterday, which will cater to Jewish students attending several nearby universities.

The Chabad House will have designated rooms for lectures, Praying, meals and more.

Rabbi Shmuel Azimov, head Shliach to France, acquired the keys and title to the property at a festive celebration.

Amid the event a Mezuzah was affixed to the front entrance, and – by Hashgocho Protis – the first Tefilin was put on by the former tenant – who revealed that he is Jewish and that he actually attended a Chabad-run day school as a child.

The new Chabad House was purchased with grant from the Slager family, and will operate under the auspices of Chabad on Campus.

A formal dedication will take place IYH during the month of Elul, after renovations are complete.
