Miracle of Jewish Education Continues in Former USSR
Thousands of Jewish children from across the former Soviet Union rejoiced this week as the new school year opened successfully on the 1st of September at the FJC’s ‘Or Avner’ network of Jewish kindergartens and day schools in countries such as: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
In a land where Jewish education and religion were once considered illegal, the remarkable revival of Judaism continues to wow even the worst of skeptics.
Since the fall of the iron wall, the FJC has established dozens of outstanding Jewish educational institutions, ranging from kindergarten up to university. And as the years pass, their influence and achievements are rapidly growing, creating a new generation of proud and motivated Russian Jewry.
