War-Weary Israeli Children Get Summer Vacation

Thanks to Chabad of Ashkelon, some 150 children with their parents finally had a summer vacation.

After weeks of running to bomb shelters the children had some down-time in the Wingate sports facility in the Tel Aviv area.

The program was enabled through the support of concerned individuals who helped underwrite the program and the Wingate Sports Center.

The children had a wonderful time in the Olympic size swimming pool, volley ball area and the many other sports and crafts, while the mothers learned stress-relieving techniques and stress management.

This was all part of a broader Chabad program to try and repair some of the emotional and financial damage done as a result of the war.
