HAMPTON, NJ [CHI] — Chabad of Hunterdon County, NJ, marked their 9th year of servicing the local Jewish community with their annual gala dinner. Under the leadership of Rabbi Eli and Rachel Kornfeld, they have pledge to find a permanent home and increase in growth.

Chabad of Hunterdon County, NJ celebrated its 9th Anniversary Dinner Banquet at the Grand Colonial in Perryville, NJ

It was a special event with many community, business as well as civic leaders joining the over two hundred and thirty people in attendance.

The evening’s honoree was Mr. James A. Hughes CEO of Unity Bank. Mr. Hughes praised Chabad for its expansive programs and community outreach and expressed great pride in supporting and partnering with Chabad since its inception in 2003.

“Unity Bank and Chabad are local community minded organizations. When we support Chabad we are supporting our community, our customers are the very same people benefiting from the services and programs offered by Chabad. Chabad has been the model organization that helps our bank makes a difference in our community.”

Freeholder William G. Mennen presented Mr. Hughes with a specially minted flag that was flown over the capital in his honor.

Proceeds from the Dinner will fund Chabad of Hunterdon’s growing number of programs servicing the Hunterdon County area.

Following the cocktail hour everyone was treated to a special video presentation highlighting the achievements Chabad has accomplished during its first nine years as well as its vision for the future.

The event featured many who shared their personal experiences with Chabad including Jeffrey Rubin, who spoke about his mother Jean’s battle with cancer and praised Chabad for supporting his family in their time of need. “Chabad helped my mom and our family for five years as she battled with her terrible disease. I will be forever grateful to Chabad for the care and concern” the crowd was moved by his heart felt story.

The night concluded with special musical pieces by Yoel Sharabi and, Joe Piscopo.
