
European Shluchos Rejuvenated at Kinus
The annual regional Kinus for shluchos in Europe – held this year in Budapest, Hungary – concluded earlier this week. The Shluchos left inspired and rejuvenated after a weekend filled with shiurim, farbrengens, interesting sessions and an enjoyable sailing trip.
The Shluchos Conference in Budapest was arranged by the Chana Organization, and was attended by more than 100 shluchos from throughout Europe.

The second day of the conference began with an exercise program, after which everyone sat down to a shiur on Chassidus with Shlucha Penina Glitzenstein of Chernovitz in Ukraine, before davening.
Breakfast, like the rest of the meals at the conference, soon turned into a farbrengen conducted by Shlucha Nechama Dina Ehrentreu of Zaporozhye in Ukraine.
Who is afraid of criticism?
After breakfast, the main session of lectures began, emceed by Shlucha Raizy Zaklos of Zagreb, Croatia.
The first lecture was given by Rabbi Simcha Cohen on the subject, “Who is afraid of criticism?” The main part of the session was a panel of Shluchos, emceed by Rivka Zaklos, Shlucha of Bryansk, Russia. On the panel were shluchos Chana Diskin of Munich, Germany Rivka Chazan of Milan, Italy and Tzipporah Garelik of Moscow, Russia.
The panel concluded with a fascinating talk given by Sara Osdoba of England on the effect of the relationship between husband and wife on all of the aspects of their lives.
A tour of Chabad and sailing on the River Danube
After the lectures, the Shluchos took a tour of the Chabad institutions in Budapest, eventually eating lunch at the Chabad House run by Rabbi and Mrs. Shmuel Raskin. During the meal, Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, head shliach in Budapest and Av Beis Din of the Chareidi Communities, addressed the participants.
In the evening, the next session of lectures, emceed by Shlucha Tammy Salomon of Bulgaria, began. This included a delicious supper on board a ship that sailed on the River Danube for around two hours. The Shluchos also made a series of good resolutions, which were read out by Shlucha Tybie Camissar of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and they enjoyed a sketch with comedienne Michal Levitin.
As mentioned earlier, the conference was arranged by Chana, which operates under the auspices of the Federation of Jewish Organizations of the European Union, headed by Rabbi Menachem Margolin, and it was produced by Fleishmann Productions.
