Fort Myers Jewish Community Welcomes New Torah

Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida, under the leadership of Rabbi Yitzchok and Nechamie Minkowicz, Celebrated its Grand Founders’ Dinner with a new Torah dedication.

The Grand Founders’ Dinner was attended by over 100 people, who were served a first-class elegant Dinner.

During Dinner community members had the opportunity to write letters in the new Torah.

The program began with Rabbi Yitzchok and Nechamie Minkowicz welcoming and thanking all those present for their support, followed by the Inscription of the last letters in the Torah by the Balei Batim who had dedicated: The Torah, each one of the five Seforim, the Yad, the breastplate and the crown.

The children of the Maimonides Hebrew Day School (the local Chabad School), with their teacher Mrs. Sheina Jacobson, sang heartwarming songs for the community, followed by a dynamic speech from Head Shliach to Brazil Rabbi Shabse Alpern and Hakafos with the Sifrei Torah.

The Event was also attended by Local Shluchim: Rabbi Yossi Labkowski from Cape Coral, Rabbi Simon and Sheina Jacobson from Punta Gorda and the Sofer Rabbi Yossi Srugo from Aventura.
